Jennifer Hughes – President
Jennifer is an innovative, devoted theatre artist and advocate with a strong background in theatre education, having taught theatre for Saint Joseph Catholic High School for 16 years! Jen, as she’s known by her friends and colleagues, is also a professional singer, actress, dancer, and choreographer. She holds a B.A. in Musical Theatre from Weber State University and an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts, Directing Emphasis, from The University of Idaho. She regularly directs for local theatre and performing companies on the Wasatch front. She is passionate about the arts, education, people and community (not necessarily in that order). Jennifer is married to Douglas Hughes. Between them they have 8 children and 12 grandchildren, which makes for an active and adventurous life!
Holly MacDougall- Secretary
Holly is a successful business owner, designer, and mother of 6! She attended Utah State University where she pursued music and psychology before serving an LDS mission in Slovenia. Holly continued her education goals at the University of Utah, where she earned her BS in psychology. After school, she and her growing family spent 8 years in the Denver area where she started and ran a successful handmade goods business, Spotted Owl Avenue. As an entrepreneur, she gained invaluable business organization, marketing, and design experience. During the pandemic, the MacDougall family moved to Carlsbad, California, to care for family estate matters. Most recently, they have relocated to South Weber, where she is putting down roots, leaning into new growth and business pursuits, and raising her family, her most cherished and meaningful role.
Genine Steed-Treasurer
Genine is a retired office manager, theatre enthusiast and volunteer. She attended Weber State College, where she met her husband, Lee, and graduated in 1986 with a degree in computer science. Her extensive management experience helped shape her expert organizational, interpersonal, and financial skills. Genine was born in Chicago, IL and moved to Utah in 1979. She and her husband raised two daughters in Ogden. Her interest in theater began as a young girl watching Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals on television with her grandmother. Her love of Shakespeare began after reading Julius Caesar in 10th grade. She has enjoyed theater from New York to Los Angeles, but her most beloved experiences have been at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Promoting and supporting the arts and art education is very important to Genine. She has been a volunteer for 41 years, working with the Red Cross, Girl Scouts, Parent Teacher groups, and the theater program at Saint Joseph Catholic High School.
